I have been working really hard on my Angel of Harmony and have almost finished the entire cape. I think I should have her dress well and truly started by this evening. This week has not seen too much cross-stitching completed as The Chicken has been feeling unwell with a cold. She has just been happy laying in mummy's arms. Thankfully she is feeling much better today, so it's back to the needle and thread with me......

This morning, the lounge room floor looks like Toys R Us, but it was after all, the 1st birthday. Aurelia was so excited with her new toys she didn't want to go to sleep and had to have the toys extricated from her little hands once she succumbed to the fatigue.
As a consequence to all this partying and preparation, I have not lifted a needle and thread till late this morning. I am starting Dimension's Angel of Harmony. I have decided to try and use a little embellishment on it, maybe some metallic threads and seed beads.
My husband has kindly agreed to take me to Dragonfly Dreams for my birthday, which is not too far from home, and go and buy whatever I like for my cross-stitch. I found that they have an excellent range of charts including Long Dog Samplers and Châtelaine, which I would love to try. They also stock a great range of threads and other embellishments. I will let you know what I come back with!!!

I love oriental cross-stitches and on our last trip to Melbourne I found this book. I have lots of oriental cross-stitch kits at home and thought it would be nice to have more so that I can make my blank hallway walls an oriental gallery. Here is the kimono design I finished a few months ago. This is the first in a series of oriental designs I want to complete.
I have recently purchased a number of cross-stitch kits from eBay, well actually about 20 kits, which will make excellent birthday and Christmas gifts once completed. I think my next task will be a series of angels, which I will attempt to embellish with some beads and blending filaments.
But first, I have made a new resolution - "I will start new work, but will spend every second night on completing the outstanding work and unfinished projects" I am not sure how well this will go, but I will update the blog with my progress.
